Sâmbăta de Sus is the village of residence of the commune of the same name in Brașov County, Transylvania, Romania. It is located in the Făgăraș depression, at the northern foot of the Făgăraș Mountains. It is mentioned in a documentary on January 20, 1437.
Brâncoveanu Monastery Sâmbăta de Sus, for monks, initially with a wooden church with a double patron saint (Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Healing Spring, built in 1657, on the initiative of the vornic Preda Brâncoveanu.
Brâncoveanu Castle, located in the western sector of Sâmbăta de Sus village, as an area of tourist interest. It was restored in 2010, receiving a new coat but respecting the original design and the Brancoveanu style. The restoration was done with private capital with the consent of the Ministry of Culture.
